What is DLP on T.V.'s??
Answer:
Well DLP can actually be better than LCD, and certainly better than Plasma !
First, it cannot be burned like the Plasma's phosphor can.
Second it does not exhibit "screen door effect" as badly as LCD nor does it lose some brightness..
LCD TVs shine the light through the LCD crystals, which lowers the lamp output, along with the fact the electronics that control the Liquid crystals are in the pixels and they do introduce themselves into the picture.but they are small.
Plasmas no matter what are the most likely targets of phosphor burns because they use phosphor to create the light. Stationary objects are notorious for burning images into plasma TVs.
Lastly, DLPs are "Digital Light Projection" units..they use tiny micromirrors to reflect the light to create the picture.they cannot be Burned and the electronics to drive the mirrors are BEHIND the mirrors. Also, 100% of the light is sent to the screen, for a brighter picture.
Personally out of all three choices, I'd pick the DLP..
I also have seen LCD and DLP displayed next to each other.the DLP delivers more colors than the LCD can...
DLP is a proprietary technology of Texas Instruments. A chip, covered with thousands of tiny mirrors, reflects light from an intense lamp onto the screen, the mirrors move depending on the brightness of the pixel. The result is a pleasing picture. But you should inquire into the life of the lamp, and the cost to replace it.
The link below describes all of the television display types. I have a Motorola DLP TV and love it. Plasma and LCD Tvs can hang on the wall. Purchase brand names only. Good luck.
If it has DLP than this is DLP projection TV.
It's different than LCD or Plasma.
DLP stand for Digital Light Processing, it is the main component on displaying the image.
If you ask which one better I would chose LCD flat panel TV.
