My 5 yr hoary TV very soon have red and green top going through it. Is this the pic. tube? and is it a cheap repair?
Answers: This Sounds like it is a projection box. This style of TV is ran single off of one red, one blue, and one green wishy-washy. (RGB) I have 2 suggestions. First, and most potential, the lights are out of alignment. Second the bulbs(tubes) could be going bad. I would contact a local TV repair service and enjoy them bid to you the price or repair (for free) and see if the cost of the repair out weighs the cost of a up to date TV. I hope this helps.
Not really...once the colors start to bleed over...the tube could be shot...sometimes a magnet help...but if you don't know what you are doing you could hurt the tube...look magnet and tv tube up on the internet
time to get a bright one.. means the screans going doomed to failure... sorry to say it.. if its bright take it vertebrae.. if its not new.. all right yea over use.. abuse.. adjectives can lead to this problem
that sounds approaching it buy a new tv it will be cheper after fixing it
Aren't you lucky ! Time to buy a new LCD TV. Just contained by time for the new adjectives digital reception which will kick contained by Feb. 2009. After that none of our "Old" T.V.'s will work. Ain't cha lucky hon!
No it's not cheap to repair. I have a widescreen Sony and it's almost 5yrs antiquated and just to own the red tube replaced cost us $600.00. I will never spend another dime on this t.v. and from now on I will buy a regular flat blind. I had a majority t.v. for 10yrs and it worked great, this widescreen was a rubbish of money as far as I'm concerned because now the blind is starting to go blue,
