When I watch FoodTV and the screen becomes primarily white (for example, zooming in on a chef's coat), the picture becomes very fuzzy and it makes a loud sound. It only happens on this channel. Is the problem on my end or the station's end? Is there anything I can do?
Answer:
I haven't had this complaint in a long, long time. I used to see it on very old TVs. It was caused by a poor AGC (automatic gain control) circuit design or misadjustment. Newer TVs don't seem to have this problem. If it is an older TV (or a bargain newer TV), the AGC is probably the problem. Probably just poor design. As far as fixing it, if it's an older TV, you'd probably be better off replacing it. It is remotely possible that the broadcast station is at fault, but that would be less likely.
