Are lcd tv,s actually sharper than conventical tv,s?
Answer:
i bought a westinghouse LVM-42W2 42 inch lcd and it cleans up the analog signal alot it looks better than my analog tv thats for sure but, i do have a HD cable box. and the HD picture is great. it has 2 dvi and 1 hdmi 2 component for your HD connections but it is considered a monitor because it doesnt have a tuner built in and the price i paid for it was only $1400 back in september. as far as i know big lcds are widesceen you can find small lcds that are 4:3. My brother has a 40 inch samsung and I have to say I think that samsung leaves alot to be desired in cleaning up the analog signal. I am happy with the westinghouse, for price and picture and all the connections. Its not name brand but its my second HDTV and I am very pleased with it. They have a bigger 47 westinghouse at bestbuy for $1900 so check it out. you will like it better than the samsung. Good luck
If you are on cable, and if you didn't get up-graded to an HD/Digital cable box, the picture would be lousy. If the TV is just Digital, you only need the digital box, but HD needs HD signal.
