X box 360 & HDTV?

I just get an Xbox 360 and it is not working on my TV, it is in recent times showing green lines (audio works)

I took my xbox to my friends hdtv and it worked perfectly.

two weeks ago I have my other friends xbox 360 and it worked perfectly on my tv.

Any thought what the green diagonal lines could mean? Any conception if a TV repair would know how to fix my tv so that I don't run in this issue again?

Answers:    This might be it:

On your a/v cable - on the end you plug into the Xbox 360 at hand is a small and hard to spy switch. It gives you the picking to switch the a/v cables from TV to HDTV. At the moment you a/v cable may be switched to HDTV which wouldn't work with a regular TV. Make sure the switch is set for regular TV's otherwise there will be no picture. The switch is small and unyielding to see, but its there.
go and get new optical cables. It worked for me
