not a new tv now maybe just a digi box, get sky or ntl.

Only people who still use off-the-air antenna are affected. If you use satellite or cable there is no need to change anything.

For those with antenna, Congress approved a coupon for about $50 to buy a box with a digital tuner and analog output for the old TVs. So, no need to change your TV.
if your tv has a scart socket then connection of a digital box will give you digital reception via roof aerial.
