Rumor has it that Plasma Tv's only have an average life span of two to three years. Plasma Tv screens are far more shiny than LCD's but are they a lesser produst?
Answer:
Get an LCD.
Plasma's will soon be a thing of the past.
They die too quickly.
Ironically I believe it is the other way around. Plasma's are closer to the old TV's we had. The blacks and colors are rich. The burn in issue has been mostly resolved and they just look beautiful. LCD's are just big computer monitors. I don't think you will find one a/v magazine that would rate LCD's over plamsma. They should last 20 years now but I would bet on 5-6 but that is honestly a long time. LCD's will last about the same. Something will end up going on either one. The way TV prices are dropping I would buy a plasma if you are looking for the most beautiful picture. The new 1080p ones are stunning but it is more expensive. goto
