How many feet can I run RG6 coaxial tv cable and still get reception?

Answer:
RG6 cable loses approximately .5db per 100 feet. You need to know how the output value of the signal and do the loss calculations from there.
Without amplification, I have ran it 50 ft with Monster cable. If you need farther, then you need to amplify the signal. If you can help it, try to keep it as short as possible because there is always signal degradation with any cable type running long distances (beyond 25 ft).

There is also wireless video technology that you may want to look into as well. Professionals may even buy a converter to convert the video signal over CAT5 cable and then those cables can run up to 300 ft.
I've run it 100 ft or more down a hill, but I had a head end amp running it. You just have to look at the specs, and figure the loss per foot, and the amount of signal you're gonna start with.
