What,s the difference between plasma and lcd?

Answer:
It different technologies that create the picture. Plasma tv's are basically two panes of glass with pressurized plasma gas inbetween them. Electricity is sent through the gas which makes that gas create different colors. This is what ultimately creates your picture. LCD is a newer technology, which is why they are more expensive. Up until a couple years ago LCD tvs could only be produced as large as 32". They work similar to a flat screen monitor. There is a bulb in the back that can be replaced if it fails for around $200. LCD tvs have a brighter image verses a plasma because of the bulb feature. If something happens to a plasma tv and the gas leaks out there is no way to fix it and you'll have to buy a new one. Plasmas also get "burn in" images. Which happens if you leave an image on your screen for too long. It will stay there for a while until enough images are passed through the screen to fix it. Kind of like an etch a sketch. haha
