Whats bettter HD or Blue Ray ?

Can someone thats used Both tell me what they thinks Better ?

I have seen HD Tv and must say its looks Gorgeous , But whats Blue Ray like ?

Do u need HD TV to watch Blue Ray ?

Answer:
From what I understand the quality level is the same on both. It's the process and storage that is different.

HD DVD uses a similar process as traditional DVDs but with a smaller track.

Blu Ray doesn't follow the traditional standard. It uses a smaller track closer to the bottom of the disk and is prone to scratches.

HD DVD makes the pits at the top, about 10 - 14 MM in from the bottom.

Blu Ray makes the pits at the bottom and puts a 2mm coating over it.

Blu Ray can store twice the data of HD DVD at the current technology limits. Which means Blu Ray can hold both Full Screen and Wide Screen and Extras on a single disk. HD DVD can't and must pick and choose what to include.

That's the basic difference.

Some companies intend on coming out with HD DVD and BLU RAY and DVD compatible players but they will be expensive.

Others only support Blu Ray or Blu Ray and DVD or HD DVD and DVD.
blue ray is a hd tv dvd player. so u wont be able to enjoy it unless u have an hd tv
They're both are great products they basically act the same because of the format, but i would go for Blu-ray, because you can choose the resolution up to 1080P or 1080i.
They will both look absolutely fantastic, no difference.
The difference is in two things:
- technical specifications
- consumer acceptance.

Thechnical specs for blu-ray are better. The discs can hold more data than HD and Blue ray supports Java - which in theory means the disc can hold entire programs which will run on your player.

Consumer acceptance is key. The consumer will ultimately decide which is better. In such cases, not the technology, but the majority is right.
i would wait a year or so as it seems
to be like the betamax vs the vhs wars
or cds vs mini disc wars
hd-dvd is better blu ray is beta max
Blue ray is a format that gives you HD "High definition".
You need a HD Ready TV to get high definition pictures.
Blue ray is similar to the battle between VHS and Beta-max in the 70's. Sky have a HD box where you can get limited high definition channels. As for Blue ray, i would wait until a HD player comes out on top.
You NEED HDTV for either format...

Blu-Ray players are so expensive they will drive themselves out of the market place.
And HD-DVD will win out in the "HD-DVD wars"

And the Better technology will lose again.
Sony needs to understand that..

Me, I'm going to buy the Toshiba HDA2 model for 1/2 the price of a Blu-Ray player...
It seems the standard DVD discs really look improved with this technology.
