Direct TV STILL DOESN'T HAVE LOCAL STATIONS??!!
SHEESH! We have been with DISH Network now for 2 1/2 years AFTER we cut Direct-TV off.and that's because they KEPT PROMISING they were going to get LOCAL stations "within a month or two"...
That's been 3 1/2 years ago!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr, glad I dumped them when the contract was finished.
OK DISH IS THE CHOICE in Local TV, HDTV and regular TV.more channels than Cable, MAKE sure your LOCAL stations are there too..because you might be living in Littletown USA and Littletown MIGHT get the "Bigger City" stations.so verify that part..
NOW, Planning on going to HDTV? Make sure you get the HD box and not the SD box, because you get your FIRST box free of charge and the 2nd box for $200..Now that sucks when the HD box didn't exist at the time of purchase, which it didn't when I got into DISH.also get the DVR and forgo the old time VCR recording.I also Don't believe you MUST buy HD channels to get the HD box, but if you do it's $20 a month for 23 channels of HD, then you drop it after a month, which I'm sure you can do.
Just ask these question to your DISH Network salesman before you sign up, ok?
Me? I'm waiting for VERIZON TV to come to Fort Wayne, so I can avoid the $200 Dish upgrade.

comcast really is good but we just have the tv part not the phone, internet ect...
