HDTV Service...What is the best? Directv, DishNet, or Digital Cable?
Answer:
I agree with the HD DVR..it's a Godsend device you'll love.
But I don't agree with Direct-TV..we had it, it took a dump every time a storm occured (bad alignment) and they promised for TWO years they were going to get the LOCAL stations online.THEY DID NOT, and they STILL DON'T have it, AFTER 4 years !
I call that lying..
We have DISH NETWORK..bigger Dish, better reception during storms, ALSO HAS LOCAL STATIONS!
Get the HD SETUP..comes with 23 stations in High Definition.
If you get standard definition, then want to go HD, they'll make you pay $200 to upgrade, but IF YOU ARE A FIRST TIME CUSTOMER..it's FREE!
They didn't even have HD Boxes when I got my DISH.so yeah, I want a Free Upgrade...or I'll pay $50 for it. But I won't pay $200..
I have had Directv for 9 years, the last 2 with high definition service. I get great picture and audio quality. Do pay the monthly fee to insure your receiver(s). Starting their service will probably get you free installation and an HD receiver... See if they'll upgrade that to an HD DVR for $100 or so. That way you can record showings to watch at your convenience. Have fun.
Dish Network and DirecTV will likely merge this year. Just pick the one that gives you the best deal. Call in and force them to sign you up with free installation and NO CONTRACT. People who get stuck in 18 month contracts got screwed.
DirecTV is better for Sports, but has less HD channels than Dish Network. Their technologies are exactly the same, and both are much better than cable.
