I just got a new Sony 40' HD LCD TV and where I live they do not have HDTV yet. just have basic cable.?

what do I need to get to make the change from cable to HDMI?

Answer:
Call DISH and switch to satellite. They will send you a HDTV box that has HDMI inputs on it.They have a nice selection of HDTV channels.
Get satellite. It's probably cheaper then cable anyways.
You can get basic cable but like the other person said satellite would be the best alternative, many satellite services offer some HD. Remember your movies will still look better.
You may need to use a VCR or a cable box for your LCD TV to change the input if there is no coaxial input (cable) on the TV. Why would you need to change to HDMI, it is just another form of HD input.
