S-Video Problem - LCD TV and Dish receiver?

I've gotten myself an 40` Hi-Def LCD by Samsung. I'm trying to connect my Dish receiver with the S-Video outputs...for now. Just until My HD receiver comes in. I keep getting the "no connection" or of that sorts errors on my screen. Any ideas?

Answer:
Either you're selecting the Wrong input, or the Dish is turned off and the TV can't see the signal, OR your S-video cable has a broken wire in it..

So, Turn on the Dish, plug it into Video 1..Try it.
Plug it into Video 2.Try it.

OH and check your S-Video cable for Pins broken off or BENT PINS..once they are bent, they will break off if you attempt to straighten them.

Then grab another S-Video Cable and Try Video 1, then 2 again.

Still NO SIGNAL??

Get out your DVD or VCR, put a tape or DVD in and get it running...then TRY the Video 1 and 2 again with Both cables.

BY THIS TIME you should have seen a picture pop up..

IF NOT, call a Samsung Authorized Service Center and have them look at the S-video connection and the Input signal board for broken solder connections..
