Is there anyway to "fix" the static problem with my TV while playing video games?

When I play video games (esp. GTA: San Andreas), as soon as the game boots up, 'static' covers the screen to the point where the game is almost unplayable. When watching TV, I have no problem with the static. Is there any way to fix this static problem without having to purchase another TV?

Just in case it's needed, I own a Polaroid flat screen (EDTV).

Any help is very appreciated :)

Answer:
Not enough info. All I can suggest, at this point, is to try a different hookup. If you have another TV, try that. It's going to be a process of elimination. Borrow a friend's gamebox, cable, etc. Just start switching stuff until you've isolated the problem. There's a good chance that your TV doesn't like the signal it's getting from the gamebox, too.
you need a new tv just for games maybe.
