WHat is hd ready and the other hd thing whats better why?
Answer:
"HD Ready" means that the TV can display high-definition images, but does not contain an HD TV tuner. So, by itself it cannot give you HD images. However, if you have an HD cable box or other external HD source, it will display those in HD.
More and more TVs are true "HD" - they have an HD tuner built in.
To decide if a TV is right for you, think about the inputs you have to the TV. If you have cable, maybe an A/V receiver and some video games - you'll never use the tuner in the TV, so "HD Ready" will be fine for you. However, if you will use it just as an old-fashioned TV, with no cable or other inputs - just an antenna - you need the HD TV tuner to get HD images.
Ok, HD ready means, that as long as you have some sort of HD input, you are ok. HD built in or HD tuner means that you can pick up HD from your local channels or off-air. So if you currently have local television and use an antanae that is mounted somewhere in your house, you have to buy a tv that has an HD tuner built in. An HD ready tv will not pick up the local HD channels. If you plan on getting HD satellite or cable or fios, all three of these come with built in HD tuners, so therefore it doesn't matter what kind of HDTV you purchase.
Buying guide
HD ready
good for HD subscriptions such as satellite and cable and fios
Hd tuner built in
good for local HD broadcasting and just so you know, you do not have to buy an HD antanae to get HD. You can even pick up HD with some decent bunny ears. The signal is not going to be as good though.
