What is the difference between 720dpi and 1080 dpi surrounded by a hdtv?

Answers:    CamJam,
dpi is not the way to explain this in the road you might a computer monitor or graphics file. dpi, with ease is "dots per inch" and that's not what we're dealing with contained by TVs.
1080i vs. 1080p are different as are they in the 720 resolution. "i" stands for interlaced and "p" stands for progressive.
Interlaced system that the TV displays and refreshes the "even" and "odd" lines of display contained by an alternating fashion. In otherwords "even" displays first consequently "odd" displays next and so on, but at a rate specifically faster then the eye can see or process so you individual see the "end result.
"p" or Progressive is displaying BOTH outlandish and even at the same time so as you can create in your mind it requires TWICE the effort and TWICE the speed and processing power and is so higher level and hence they do cost more.
In "apples to apples" 1080p is roughly TWICE the resolution of 720p. 720p vs. 1080i becomes a adjectives other debate that I won't go into here to pick up time and space.
I hope this helps clarify for you.
i contemplate you mean 720p and 1080i, because they are associated beside each other.

If you put the setting on 720p, you wlil enjoy a slightly lower resolution but each horizontal rank of pixels will refresh at matching time, every time the TV refreshes.

next to 1080i, you will have a sophisticated resolution, but each time the TV refresh, it will refresh EVERY OTHER horizontal procession of pixels.

Either way, p or I, 720 or 1080, you really can't notify the difference. Id keep it at 720p
