How do I check if tv is set to widescreen?

Answer:
There should be a "display" button or similar that will tell you the current settings. Try that.
You have a button labeled either ASPECT, SIZE, or Wide...
Press it..It should be in Full Mode

If you want to see what the TV station is transmitting press the DISPLAY button
An Icon Box should appear with the RESOLUTION (1080 or 720 or 480) and the Picture Format (4:3 or 16:9)

The IDEAL settings should be FULL MODE
with the TV station transmission set to 1080 and 16:9

Normal Low Definition station settings will be 480i and 4:3.
