i found a tv and i was just wondering wat u guys think if its good or not.it has full HD 1080p and has a contrast ratio of 15,000:1...so this a good tv for good picture

Answer:
Samsung is NOT the best and Cannot be compared to SONY.

Samsung is one of the worst brands to buy unreliable junk.

Sony on the other hand is a High end TV Manu and their quality are at the upmost.

Sony
Mitsubishi
Hitachi
Pioneer Elite
Toshiba

are the best out there.

Nothing else can compare.

**ADDED**

Specs wize yes, its very good. But for longevity, support, parts availability.

As a tech, we know which TV are good and which arnt. Sure that tv will have a good picture, but if someone EXAMPLE

Someone has a bad percentage on Ebay but 50% of them had good reviews, would you take a chance?

I have a bud who works for Samsung, Sears and me at my shop and other shops around the area ALL AGREE that Samsung is ## The worst Company ##.

Yes most samsungs last and work GREAT UNTIL the warranty expires then MOST will show problems. Just Bad designs.

I would say that you have picked one of the two best LCD HDTV's on the market. Samsung & Sony are the two best in that technology. Make sure that model has a " built-in HD Tuner ", because they fool you on the ones that are just HD-Ready or Compatible. Unless it says HDTV on it, the HD tuner is not built in. Ask the salesman if it's built in. Good
Luck.
SAMSUNG is a good TV. In fact, they make most of the TV's for SONY, which sell for about $500. more. I have a SAMSUNG-Model LN-S4051D, 40" LCD-HD. Had it about four months. I like it a lot, so does Consumer Reports. The HD 1080p is good, as is the ratio. You should be able to buy the 40" HD LCD for around $1,700. My only problem is that I need a cable converter box the receive digital and HD. The converter box and COMCAST have limitations, so I can't use some of the features of the TV, like Picture-in-Picture, etc. You really disable parts of the TV and turn it over to the less sophisticated cable company. Don't let that stop you from getting HD LCD, cable will have to catch up sometime. Hope this is what you need.
