Personal expirence or opions please. Would you rather buy a Philips 42" LCD or a Samsung 42" Plasma??

Answer:
You would be better off with an LCD because it last longer than a plasma.
I would not buy either of those brands, because neither makes top quality TV's, but I had to choose, I'd take the Samsung. A really good plasma has the best TV picture -- period (but you shoud look at Panasonic & Pioneer, both of which are much better).
I have worked on both brands...

Although I have a PREFERENCE towards Samsung...
The Phillips TVs are quite reliable.

I just think the Samsung has a better picture..
Get a Vizio we went for a 42 inch Phillips and got a 50 inch plasma by Vizio for cheaper. It has an amazing picture and even better sound.
Haha. Neither.

Samsung & Phillips are THE worst. My dad works for Sears Tech Support and every call is for either a Samsung or a Phillips.

While he is working over there Iam running the main shop, and Samsung and phillips are the worst also!

Both have the exact high percentage failure rates.

Phillips, not many places dont accept phillips junk, but most accept samsung, but plan to wait awhile to get the parts because samsung dosnt even know their own parts.

I recommend calling a TV Repair shop and get their wisdom.
I would rather buy a Phillips 42.
