Does anyone know where i could find one of the old cable boxes?

Those are the PROPERTY of Time Warner and Comcast.
Previous owners of Cable had to turn them into the company.PLUS both companies have to PROGRAM those boxes for proper operation. That means an old box may not function like you want it to. And if you buy one off of E-bay.it probably won't work with your cable.
The best thing is to just call Cable and use the box they give you.that will guarantee you get what you pay for.
