How Can a Scratch in my LCD TV Screen Be Removed?
Anyone found a product or a process that will fill/disguise the scratches? Preferably before her daddy comes home from work to find his precious Sony Bravia completely ruined!
Answer:
I'd TRY the MEGUIER's PLASTIC POLISH..but toothpaste is ONLY for GLASS, not plastic.it'll make it worse.
Good Luck, next TV you get, have a LEXAN protection screen built and VELCRO it over the LCD display..
Or if possible, wall mount it about 5-6 feet above any floor or table.
Time to get a new TV, or check the warrenty
It may have to be replaced, I try and keep children away from my 42" LCD.
Light scratches can be removed with a cotton bud and metal polish (such as Brasso or Silvo). Sounds like yours may be way beyond that. Check your household contents insurance details.
Try Vasiline. Rub on with your finger
Dont put too much pressure and rub in a circle motion orver the scratch
Wipe away with a clean cloth and glass cleaner.
I heard many success stories with this method
I wouldn't take the others' advice when it comes to metal polish or vaseline.
I would, however, try some meguiar's plastic polish. It's been used by motorcyclists for decades to clean the small scratches off their face shields. Toothpaste works pretty well too. Neither will damage the plastic the way the aforementioned petroleum products will.
Another fine product for polishing plastics is Brillianize:
