Panasonic ct-27d12d television sound trouble?

The tv is only a few years old but the sound from the headphone jack recently started to 'lock' in place - it would neither go up or down. Then it would work ok for a bit. Now it is also doing it even without the headphones connected. Question is: would it pay to get a new one or have it repaired?

Answer:
More than likely, it will require some troubleshooting to see if it's a system control problem or a digital to analog converter like the TVB chip, for example. That would probably put the repair cost beyond the value of the set. Have you tried the old uplug the TV for a few minutes and plug it back in to reset the system control circuit method? I doubt that will help, but it's worth a try.
