In Sharp (and some HP) TVs, OPC stands for Optical picture control.
It changes picture settings based on the ambient light in the room.
You probably have "OPC display on" which is good for store displays, but annoying at home. (In this mode, everytime light changes you see something on the screen).
So depending on your TV, you may wantto keep OPC on, but turn "display OPC" off.
