Need help with a TV repair issue!?

I have a Philips rear projection TV (46inch HDTV). Ive owned for two years. Today when I went to turn on the TV, it begins to turn on, then suddenly shuts off! Then immediately turns back on, only to shut off after a few seconds. The manual is no help. Any thoughts on what is wrong?!?!?!

Answer:
If the TV turned on and off BEFORE the picture appeared, you have a problem with the power supply most likely..but I have seen some SSB boards cause that symptom..

IF the PICTURE APPEARED, then it shut down, thats excessive display voltage and an adjustment would be needed...
You have to bring it to a tv technician to find out what"s wrong.
Dear W. W:

OK, I AM that technician. You have a power supply, or, overload thereof, problem.

So, sorry to bring the bad news, but if you love your TV, take it to a friendly repair tech and hope for the best.

I don't know your particular model, but I will guess there may be an SMPS (switched mode power supply) module which could (hopefully) replaced.

Otherwise, if it is OK and, just being overloaded by a section or device connected thereto, then the offending part must be located and corrected.

Good luck, friend, because you DO have circuit problems.
