We just purchased an AKAI LCD TV. We have never heard of the brand name but was told that it was not only a new one but a good one. We arent having any problems with it and the picture is great! But we are curious to see if anyone else has heard of this brand or purchased it and are they or did they have any problems.

If memory serves, Akai is owned by Mitsubishi. The Akai name has been around since the late 60s. They used to make very nice reel to reel tape recorders. Whether their current product is any good or not is a matter of debate. Mitsubishi is notorious for not being able to supply parts for their product. Hopefully, that's not the case with Akai.
