Answers: Probably say AV2 which means audio video input 2 which is hopefully where on earth the cable box is connected. If not pushing input should have switched his TV to AV1 the other audio video input.
My guess is he does call for to reboot or unplug the cable box. If he does not want to unplug it have him hold contained by the power switch on the box and see if it says something approaching BOOT on the display. Then release the power switch on the box and wait for the time to reload on the clock on the box. Then turn it wager on on and wait for any firmware to nouns (progress bar moves from disappeared to right if there is a display on the TV) and later the first channel will appear on the TV. Change to input AV1, input AV2 or dike 3 on the TV if none of the others displays this on the TV. If he is using audio and video cables (yellow, white and red) breed sure he uses whichever AV input they are connected to or if he is using Coax (black or white antenna like cable) use depression 3 (or possibly 4 if the box was set up for gully 4 instead of 3).
My guess is either the box locked up, the cable nurture is out or the set has problems.
