Is it better to buy protection plan when buying an expensive (over $1500) HDTV?

I did on my plasma tv. I have a Pioneer which is the top of the line. If the picture ever got a dead pixel or just went bad or something failed it would come in handy. At the price your paying $200 is not a huge difference.
These plans are a big money maker for the seller. about 90% are never used. They want to sell a 3 year plan witch 2 years is likely covered by the mfg. BE CAREFUL
