What is the best type of TV (and why)? I would like a thin one that is 36" or larger.?
Answer:
Everyone is going to have a different opinion. So check out www.myproductadvisor.com and let it pick for you. Enter criteria like your price range, size, whether you want HD, preferred brands, the list goes on and on.this will give you a good idea of a "top 5" best suited for you.
I have a Samsung LCD flat screen with built-in HD and I really like it.
I just bought a 36" samsung hdtv, last month, and it really is a great tv. I was looking around for at least 2 months, because when I buy a major purchase, I check everything about it. I keep my stuff for as long as I can. My last tv was a 27" sony, which lasted me for 14 years, and it is still working. The best one I could find, in my price range was the samsung. It was on sale, for $899.00 at walmarts. We are very happy with our purchase, am still learning about some of the features. I think you would love this tv, there is absolutely nothing that I do not like about it. I have seen tv's much more expensive, but never seen a better picture..Good Luck with your purchase!!
Definitely do some research online, but you should be able to get a great 37"-42" tv for $2000.
Right now there are some excellent TV's on the market in your range. The Sony Bravia line is excellent, as are Samsungs new line and Sharp's Aquos line.
If you're looking for a bargain (maybe not the greatest television, but rock solid, and you'll be able to afford a bigger one), you should check in to Westinghouse. I can personally attest to this being one of the better of the cheap brands.
Many different options to go through. cheapest is going to be DLP (rear proj). LCD and plasma are fairly close. If you like to watch the news and play video games, I wouldn't recommend plasma, as you can get burn-in. If you change through channels a lot, and don't leave MSNBC on all the time, you should be fine.
