Trouble with the video output on my TV?
My TV is an RCA and the on-screen menu selections do not allow me to choose Video input.
Answer:
Why not program your Direct Tv remote to run your RCA? Check your direct tv owners manual & go to the section that says "programming your remote".Some remotes list "source" instead of TV/VIDEO.
You can actually get into your tv menu & select the input you want too(it's a pain though without remote).
And you better check your Direct receiver again, I think that says video "OUT", which means you cannot hook your DVD" IN" to it. If you have a VCR you can hook your DVD into that too using your A/V inputs.
I don't see why you can't connect your DVD to your Directv box. The remote for the satellite receiver must have a button for DVD on it to push to watch DVD. You could try it.
Get a RCA Brand Universal Remote. Program it, and when you get the right code, press tv/video or Input. It should work.
Normally you dont go to the menu to change input. You use the remote to change inputs.
the only way you can watch your dvd from your direct tv box is if your direct tv have a video input channel, you just have to find a better remote.

Do you have a white DTV remote that works everything else for the TV(i.e., volume, mute, and power)?
If the remote is programmed for the TV you have to program the TV input button separately to do that slide the switch at the top to the right so it's under TV, then hold down the mute and select buttons at the same time and the light above the switch should blink twice when it blinks release the buttons and press 960 after you put those numbers in the light should blink twice(if it blinks 4 times that means you just turned the input button off)
Regarding the inputs on the dtv box, are you sure they are INputs and not OUTputs?! There are only a few boxes that actually have inputs on them so that you can run other devices through it. If you have one of those older boxes though and still are using the original remote that came with it there should be an input button on the dtv remote and if you push that while the remote is in satellite mode it will switch between the inputs on the receiver.
