Bought a big Samsung 1080p tv and its blury on regular tv?

so i have digital cable... but i dont hold any HD channels but.. but what scared me is the certainty that even though the regular channels arnt suppose to look Awesome... they look blurry though. I be a sign of worse then on my other tv. And i know its nil to do with the tv settings. Is it suppose to look so doomed to failure?

Answers:    From about ten foot away, your SD channels should look correct. Not great, but good. Standard DVDs should look particularly good. HD should look great. Up close, SD will look blurry, as you utter. The best you can hope for from an HDTV is that SD will, at a reasonable viewing distance, look as devout as on a SD set of comparable size. Some sets are better than others at displaying SD. If you bought the set from a brick and mortar store, get them to prove to you why you shouldn't return the set.
pop surrounded by a dvd and see if it's still blurry!
