Anyone know about "white cloudy splotches" on LCD TV when scenes are dark/black?
Answer:
The picture quality of LCD TVs has historically suffered from poor black levels, but the latest versions are often much improved . The best LCDs actually surpass the best plasmas in terms of delivering a deep black, but most LCDs still lag behind. That's because LCDs use a backlight to provide illumination, and there's almost always some light leaking through the pixels. Color saturation is also generally inferior to plasma's, again as a result of the inability to completely blacken (turn off) the pixels.
Still, that's no excuse for you seeing those white splotches/clouds on your new set. I've only read a few reviews of Magnavox LCDs having this occur-though it has happened to a few unlucky customers. My advice, take the set back right away. You gain little by waiting.
Hmm, it's an LCD plasma TV eh?
WELL, it NOT an LCD PROJECTION TV..those TVs get dust in the LCD panels sometimes and they can be cleaned out with Dry AIR IF there is an access panel into the LIGHT ENGINE...and there's one really great trick I learned on cleaning the LCD projection TVs...guarantees all dust is removed !!
But, unfortunately it's an LCD Plasma.and I have nothing to share with that..
Sorry...
