What leads ... HELP?
Answer:
Firstly, check if your Sony has a PC input - mine does. If you find one you will need a VGA lead - this will be similar to the one that connects your PC monitor to your computer. Depending on the model of your monitor you may be able to remove that lead from your computer and use it to connect your PC to the TV.
Usually it is an S cable that you need, but thats only for video, for audio you will need something else. you may need adapters to convert normal "Headphone" cable to RCA cable. You have to Have a TV out video card tho. If you don't, it won't work
A rgb lead ( the one from your moniter) should do the trick ( you may need to play around with your display setting on comp)
Look and see if the television has a connector exactly like the monitor socket on your computer.
It will be a D shaped connector with 15 pins arranged in 3 rows.
If it has one of these you can use a nice long monitor lead (from PC World or Maplin) to connect the telly to your computer's monitor socket. If your Dell is a laptop you will see the socket on the back somewhere.
Such a connector on the Sony will be adressed by the Remote control as AV3 or similar. Check it's instruction book to be sure.
You will also need something to connect the sound unless you're happy with the computer's loudspeakers.
This will normally be two Phono sockets on the tv (red and white) and a mini-jack 'line out' on the computer. Adaptor cables are also available from decent shops.
