Why we use FM & AM in sound & video transmission ?

im speakin of monochrome t.v. also tell that can we use AM for sound & FM for video nd what will be the resultnd in case we use AM-AM nd FM-FM or the above?

Frequency modulation is better than Amplitude modulation,because in FM there is less in noise . In FM frequency is varied according to the carried signal.The range of FM is 98 to 108 MHz.
