Whats causing this problem with my Sony LCD TV?

Its a big wide screen TV, and its only a couple of years old. I've got an HD cable box, and occasionally, the TV will make static sounds even if the volume is turned all the way down. Sometimes when this happens some channels will be fine, sometimes they all do it. The image is fine, though, and its starting to do this more and more often.

Answer:
I know this may sound stupid but you should check the cable from the box to the tv, and also the cable from the cable company to the box and maybe unplugging everything for like 10 minutes and replugging everything in could help.
Cell phones can cause this interference. Even if the volume is down it can produce sound into the speakers.
I would call the cable company a tell them THEIR cable box is making funny sounds on the TV. Sometimes they will foist a refurbished cable box that was used before over on you. I had a bad one, so I insisted on a new one, as in never used before. Never had any more issues to this day.
