HD ready TV?
will that work for the shows that say "presented in HD" like sports on ABC and ESPN?
Answer:
In the USA, "HD Ready" refers to any display that is capable of accepting and displaying a high definition signal at either 720p, 1080i or 1080p using a component video or digital input, and does not have a built-in HD-capable tuner.
So, getting just an antenna would not work. You would need an HD tuner from something like digital cable or Direct TV.
If you have an HD signal, either from HD cable box, or a satellite HD receiver, you should be OK, provided there is an HD signal coming in from outside to your box or receiver. And if you are talking about over-the-air HD Antennas, you need to live handy enough to the transmitter tower to get a good signal. If that's what you need, ask the people about the range of that antenna. If you get an over the air HD antenna, make sure you get the proper cables to connect to the TV.
