Are 60 cycle external speakers compatible to input to a tabletop 3-yr old Sony TV in rear input slots?

Speakers are not connected to inputs on anything, You must mean -----will extension speakers improve the tv sound ? no they wont unless connected to sockets on the back of the tv marked " Ext Speakers " Cheers Pete
