Which LCD/PLasma tv should I buy? Any suggestions?
Answer:
sony bravia hd
i got a Sharp and it is fannytastic. great picture quality.
Philips 42" LCD Ambilight if you have a few quid to spend - If not Panny Viera plasma 42" has come down in price quite nicely recently - probably both have as good a quality picture but the Philips is a bit pricey
You should buy LCD,especially if you are at a higher elevation. Plasma screen can have images burned into the screen, such as a ticker on the bottom of the screen like MSNBC has. LCD also has less upkeep. Plasma screen will not last as long and when you are putting a lot of money into a set, you want to get your money out of it.
My brother sells high-end media rooms and always suggests LCD.

Try this link for good info mate??
Well I will give you my story. I went to costco which is a great place because of the warranty. They take back pretty much anything. I returned 3 flat panel tv's there. I tried a Maxent LCD it sucked unless it was high def. I tried Vizio plasma which has a great picture regular and high def but both of them died on me after the first 2 weeks. First speakers would not work then the plasma would not turn on. Its too bad cause I liked that brand. They took it back no problem.
I finally settled on the Panasonic 42 plasma. Awesome picture blows away the Vizio too but it was like 200 more but well worth it. extremely clear pictures even on non high def. Plus you get the awesome quality and if something should happen, go back to costco and return it with no hassles. I paid around 1200-1300 for my panasonic 42 I believe. I highly reccomend it.
Good luck.
I have an LG 42" LCD. Picture and sound is better than some I've seen. Try signing up for a free 30 days trial of 'which tv'. It gives you detailed opinions and comparisons of some of the major makes and models including sound quality. The link is below.
