Plasma tv advice?

"Need to choose 42" hdtv - plasma / lcd ? It will be used in a second media room for kids and family and will have typical tivo, dvd,ps II and xbox 360 along with possible mini cpu for minimal net surfing from the tv. With that said the majority of the time will be Tv watching (70%) and gaming (30%) and net surfing maybe 5-10% I narrowed the two choices down to the Pioneer PDP4270HD and the Panasonic th42PD600U both
plasma tvs. Now I'm concerned about possible burn in and flickering picture
when using the games or the net. Should I be looking for an LCD in this
application. Getting so caught up in all the numbers and having
trouble making a choice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Answer:
Go with the LCD because they have a longer life than plasma does, and they do not have some of the problems suck as screen burn that plasma can. Also LCD is lighter weight. Look around at LG or Samsung LCD tv's because they have the best pictures that i have seen. Definatley go for the LCD because if you get the plasma for games that have a static image such as a speedo, or the start menu and static screen items on your computer will burn into the screen unless you turn it off and let it cool down for 10 min every 2 hours, but this can also kill the tv faster constantly turning it off and on, so LCD is the only way to go.
I did a lot of research on the subject and eventually purchased LCD. It came down to the LCD unit being lighter in weight for me as well as the research showing that the LCD units seem to have a longer life than plasma That's my input for what it's worth. I am really happy with the LCD, but it took a week or two for the whole family to get use to the unit - now they all love it.
Go for the Sharp Aquos LC37GP1U.It hasn't arrived in retail stores but you can get it from buy.com It's the best for gaming with a 6ms response time no burn in
go for the panasonic plasma. It has great reviews and way better picture than LCD. All these people that say plasmas are not good is not true. Only the first generation plasmas had alot of problems but the one's made today are way better built than the older ones.
