Another problem with dish network?
Answer:
sounds like dish network and ups has an issue to resolve.
who authorized ups to leave the package without a signature. usually they will try to redeliver it and after that like three tries, they would send it back...unless someone authorizes them to leave in a "secure" location at your residence. since you didn't use the receiver, dn can cancel the box and make it unusable. why did they send another box if you told them that you did not receive the first one? what type of tracking did they do to locate the box. how do you know that they did not receive the box back and are charging you for it? ask the operator those and a lot more questions. if he/she can't answer them, ask to speak to someone that can answer your questions since they are not able to give complete customer service. the supervisor should be able to handle it but start with the regular phone op. tell them that you want an investigation. you will only pay for the receiver received and the service used. you have to do that. don't pay for what you did not receive. oooh, they always tell you that for your protection the calls will be recorded. tell them in the beginning that you are recording you phone call, and that you also want it noted by someone in their office that you did call numerous times about the lost receiver. have them to verbally state it over again the date and times of your prev. phone calls. show them that you are not backing down from them about this, and make them believe that you will seek oustide parties "lawyer" to handle this situation if it is not resolved quickly without the threat of collection action.
take them to small claims court!
That's why I switched to Directv. Dish network is a bunch of idiots. I'd try to keep calling them and get them to remove any charges. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.
First the customer service rep mislead you, they probably do not work for UPS directly.
NEXT contact UPS. They have a crack team of investigator for this very reason, NOTE: All packages are insured for at least $100 dollars, unless the shipper has a agreement with UPS to lower cost, in that agreement THEY THE SENDER assume liability for lost or STOLEN items.
The shipper also has the option of direct sign, meaning if no one is home the take the package with and leave you a note to pick up or schedule a drop off. If you did not sign for the package you can't be held liable for the cost.
Also contact the BBB. You may also want to contact the collections/account receivable department of Dish, they are a internal department and are the ones to make changes to the invoiced amount they will have the authority to make changes.
You may want to register a complaint with the FCC as well.
NOTE: some companies contract there 1st & 2nd tier customer service to outside companies including those outside the US. These persons do not speak English well and do not understand the problem. You have the right to request connection to a USA representative. The same goes for contract companies in the US (i.e. APAC) they don’t speak English well and don’t understand the problem. If you are not getting help ask to speak with a supervisor. Everyone has a supervisor!
Do your part and let these companies know that you want your problem solved, you want to be understood and you will not do business with them if they don't.
