DVI/HDMI Cable not giving desired results?

(The TV is a Sony Bravia KDL46S2010U 46" HD Ready LCD TV, thanks again)
Answer:
You have a 720p/1080i TV. It is quite likely that the TV can't handle 1080p input over HDMI.
Since your TV is 720p, set your Nvidia card resolution to 1365x765 (or 1365x720) and let the PC do all the scaling.
It sounds like your video card on your computer can;t handle that high of a quality video. What video card are you using?
You said the TV is HD Ready. That means you have no HD tuner built into the TV, it's just "READY" for one. It will work fine on Digital, but unless you get an HD tuner for it, you won't have as good a picture as you hoped. I'm surprised they didn't tell you that where you bought it. I found this link that explains the difference in HD Ready :

Sorry..IT WON'T do 1080P...
It's capable of 720 and 1080i.
The NATIVE resolution of the TV is 1366 x 768
1080 is shrunk down to fit the 768 display.they call that downscaling.
It was not BUILT to read 1080P signals, but the NEW ones this year have that capability in the HIGH END TVs..
Expect to spend a minimum of $2500.00 to get it..
