Can I install an LCD TV resting on a fireplace?

I have a corner fireplace (gas) and would close to to place an LCD TV on top. A certain amount of grill is generated from the fireplace.

Answers:    not a great notion. soot and other contaminants will filter into the unit and no warranty or extended service accord will cover that because that is considered enviroment and/or consumer ill-treat.
My girlfriends uncle has a setup close to that. I don't think it generate to much heat and deeply of the heat go up the flu anyway. Does your fireplace have cup doors and vent for the heat? If so I would use those.
