Is it worth moving a big screen TV?
Answer:
IF you had the old box, that would be nice.but since you don't, USE thick quilts to cover it. You want to protect the FRONT of the TV mostly...
When I tranport 50" LCDs in a van, I put the Front side towards any outside wall of the van, with a couple Blankets/Pads covering the entire TV, then I either strap it to the wall or I place various equipment around it that is boxed to minimize it's movement.A refrigerator is not a good choice because it's heavy, but boxes of clothes or bedding are a great choice.just imagine a giant pillow around it and think pillow boxes when you're loading the truck..
I would suggest you pull out the LAMP and place it in a smaller box that rides with you up front..
Obviously, it's worth taking it with you.
If you're getting a truck to move stuff anyway - go for it. But if your TV won't fit or you're not getting a truck or is old, why not sell your TV and buy a new one that will work great with your new house?
Hope that helps,

WELL HOW ELSE WOULD YOU KEEP IT
considering it is an LCD, i would take it along. they are pricey and sound like it isn't that old. if it was a regular big screen, then i would sell that a get a new one, not the LCD though.
yes-they're great! Get a wide screen and pop in your Billy Jack DVD and sit back with a cherry coke, slice of pizza, and enjoy!!!!11
You probably don't want to if you don't have to. I'd get a professional mover to do it. Someone who's going to be responsible. Of course, if money is an issue, then you don't really have a choice. Just be very very careful.
Why, do you have enough money lying around to buy a new one? Surely moving it would be cheaper than buying a new one.
Its better to keep it yourself
