HDTV Help!?

For example, if you get an HDTV, do you get HD for the non-cable channels for free? and you wont get HD for the cable channels?

Answer:
If you have an HDTV, then it will be able to access high definition channels that are broadcast over the air for FREE. You will be able to get networks like CBS, NBC, FOX, etc all in crystal-clear HD quality via the antenna and tuner that is built into your TV. But channels like Discovery, HBO, and ESPN HD need to be purchased from a cable or satellite service provider such as Time Warner, DirectTV, or Verizon FIOS. Hope this helps

No, your TV will probably have one, But you need to know the model to be 100% sure. If you do need to buy one it will be very cheap, (around $30) As long as your TV can get any reception at all, since it is digital you wont see any degradation in quality. Check out this website. It allows you to put in your zip code and see what HD channels you will be able to get! http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.asp...
It all depend on your cable company. In Chicago Comcast has non-cable channels in HD and regular. If you TV has an HD tuner built in, you can by an HD antenna to get the signal in to open airways.
