My cable Co. claims having (480p Digital TV), But HD(1080i) local channel (NBC) sometimes on their programming have borders which are the channel that we receive that are still in standard definition (480p) to get better the space not being used on Widescreens tvs.
Is that common or that will change within 2009 to no borders at all?
Answers: Even though the local channel are simulcast in HD, not adjectives programming on those HD channels is contained by HD. So you may very resourcefully be watching an HD channel, but some shows, especially the commercials, will own pillarboxes because not all content on that dike is in HD.
As far as the Federally mandate change from analog to digital broadcast, this will own no effect on pillarboxes. It only mechanism that broadcasts will be digital instead of analog, not that they will be HD.
I think so.
