My dad does something to the fuse box and turns off the tv?
PS-Also everything else works like my ps2 in the basement but not the tv, so the outlets are not the problem.
Answer:
unless you live in a REALLY OLD HOUSE... there aren't any fuses. they are circuit breakers. they look like ordinary wall switches (only sideways) in the "junction box" ... open the door to the junction box and see if all the switches are turned in the same direction. most have little labels next to them indicating kitchen, living room, washer/dryer, etc.
if the basement was refinished into a "family/TV room" the TV may have it's own switch. just flip it back on.
Take a small lamp over to where the TV is plugged in and plug it into the SAME SOCKET the TV is plugged into..if it LIGHTS UP, then Dear ol' Dad didn't shut off the circuit breaker to that plug, or remove the wire from the circuit breaker.
That means your TV has a power supply or horizontal problem and needs fixed...
IF IT HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED...it's time to go and get a job or go outside and play.
Depending on your age and whether you have graduated High School or are old enough to graduate..
Might take the pressure off you if you mow the lawn, take out the garbage, sweep the garage etc.the MAN JOBS he's been doing..Wash dishes, mop the floor, sweep the carpets, clean up the living room will get you in GOOD with MOM..
It's your way of saying THANKS!
(and let them know what you did...and do it weekly.)
