Answer:
i have!!
my sister lives 300 miles away and bought me a magic eye thing for the sky box.

i didn;t try to install it til about 3 months later, it didnt work, so we returned it to my local store, 300 miles from where it was bought and got a no questions asked refund!
hooray!

i took the money and bought some huge sunglasses off the market!!
it should have come with a 12 month guarantee so im sure youl be fine, email them with the receipt no etc and details and they will take things from there,i found them to be most helpful.good luck
Yes twice wit a dvd/video combi, 1st one kept blowing fuses, exchanged no probs,2nd packed up after11months took it back full refund.
I'v returned dozens of items to them and never had a problem !!
The 30 days refund is what Argos offers if you change your mind for any reason.

If the product does not work, however, and it is less than 12 months old you can take it in anytime and ask for a refund.

Whether or not you get the refund depends on Argos policy as they are entitled to repair it. However, in the interest of customer satisfaction they will normally give the refund if you request it.
If you take anything within its warranty back to Argos, they must replace or repair it for free. If you get any problems, mention trading standards, and they brick it.
I bought a cooker and in the catalogue it had an oven light, but when they delivered it, it had no light.
I reported them to trading standards, and they refundede me, gave me compensation, and trading standards took them to court.
2 weeks ago i got a full refund for a faulty printer (£69.99) and baught a different one. i baught it in october last year an olivetti anyway photo.
I have dealt a lot with Argos and when I have had a problem they have always dealt with it well. I have taken things back when they have not worked properly, long after 30 days. I keep my receipts. In every case they have replaced the item or let me select an alliterative and give me full credit for the item returned, On occasion I have selected a cheaper replacement and they have refunded the difference. The only time I got a full refund was when I bought a light fitting and it was faulty ,and the replacement was faulty also. When I said twice is enough they refunded with no argument. Now I have never had to return or complain about anything as major as a TV but don't anticipate their response.Ask at the customer service desk and see what they advise A TV is a big thing to transport so don't take it back, see what they advise.I think they might surprise you with the sort of assistance they offer.
The 30 day thing is just for "change of mind" returns, if you decide you don't want or don't like the item.
Under consumer law, they would have to exchange or refund (YOUR choice, not THEIRS) if an item was faulty.
Don't let them fob you off, although in my experience Argos are pretty good in this respect.
take it back all new goods are warrented to do the job they are supposed to do.Only 42 days old its brand new .they will replace it for a new one dont take any nonsense all electrical goods are covered by manufacturers warrenty for 12 months
The law now says that if a fault occurs within 6 months, the law assumes the fault was with the product when it was sold, and the retailer has to prove otherwise (which they won't be able to do, unless you've spilt water in it and there's provable damage/stains for example). That means you can rescind the contract (give the goods back for a refund). According to the lowest link below, the retailer can deduct something for the period of use you have had from the product, but you'd have to check the policy on this and be careful. If the TV was expected to last 5 years and you had it for 5 months, then the deduction would have to be less than 1/10 of the purchase price to be fair, for example.
if it is faulty they have to give you a refund and you should have at least a years garentee on it anyway just take it back to your store with receipt and youe should get a refund
...and this is why you should never buy cheapo electronic products from Argos...
i would suggest that you take it back if they offer to repair accept but if it is stil not working tell them you either want a refund or a new telly . you have a years guaruntee and if it not fit for purpose they have an obligation to refund or replace,if they are difficult tell them you are contacting the trading standards department.the 28 days should not come into it if it aint working properly.
