I partially agree with the previous answerer-but not enough. If you purchase a TV from a retailer, and the TV is new, the manufacturer will honor their warranty. It has nothing to do with where you bought it. A Panasonic Plasma TV bought from Best Buy or AbesOfMaine both carry a Panasonic warranty. Moving right along...
I initially ordered a Panasonic plasma from 6thAve.com and had a horrible experience-as they never had the monitor in stock. I then ordered from a new company, TVauthority.com. They were able to get me the plasma with no problems in 7 days... very impressive. Good communication, tracking number, and follow up calls to ensure all went well.
I found TVAuthority on CNET.com, by reading their reviews of the plasma. They offer "sponsored" merchants links on the site for those who provide good service.
I the end, you do have to be wary of some merchants-but they aren't all out to sell you refurbs as new products. That's just over-pessimism. Some of the big-name merchants on the east coast aren't known in other parts of the US. To only use Crutchfield would be silly, as they just don't offer the same prices and inventory that you can get elsewhere.
Do some research on epionions, CNET, and the better business bureau. Cover you bases by using a credit card with fraud and buyer protection. Contact the company your considering BEFORE to ensure that you know all the details surrounding returns, canceled orders, and shipping times.

If you are set on buying a tv online and not buying it at a retail establishment, i would stick to either Crutchfield.com or tigerdirect.com since they are certified by most of the major manufactuers to sell their tvs and thus the manufacturer will honor you warranty if something goes wrong. All those sites you named are very unlikely to be certified by any of the major manufactuers so you are taking a real chance at getting a lemon and not being able to do anything about it. Also another thing to look at with those sites is they often sell refurbished sets and sell them as new and thats why their prices are so low. Just choose carefully and pick a reputable site.
