Do you think there will be a resolution that is sharper than HD?

HD never gets boring to watch no matter how many times you watch it especially when it comes to sports. I am just wondering if there is any new technology coming out that is going to make HD look like standard definition any time in the near future. Or maybe there may just come out with some 2160 HD dlp technology.

Answer:
there is a resolution higher, it's called Real Life! enjoy it! ;-)
Yes yes and yes
Yes I can see a day when we have true 3 dimensional TV's where yo can see depth
well initially 720i was the ticket, that was it. now you have 1080i. so I would say yes but with the expectation that this will only be availabe in large tv's 70inch plus
Of course, someday, will likely be holographic technology.
isnt it blueray :-S or is it DVD
not sure confused
yes I do . in the near future there will be Holo technology that will allow the viewer to interact with the show in true 3d
I absolutely believe that there should. Partially in part because of the pure fact that there WILL BE resolutions that are sharper than HD in a few Christmasses. Like everything else. It's not feasible that the entire TV industry would just blow a whistle at their research departments all across the world and say "well, that's as good as it gets; peace out".

No way, so yes, there will be. Best answer thanks!
HD refers to resolution, which will max out at 1080P for a little while (at least 7-10 years, says me), due to limitations on bandwidth available for sending the signals/data.

OLED technology, like the kind Sony demo'd at CES this year will make today's TV's look inferior, but won't actually be any more HD than today's. OLED TV's will be brighter and have better color (while using less power and taking up less room) and will become widely available in the next couple years.

All that being said, technology marches ever onward, and you can bet your bottom dollar that Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Westinghouse and the rest are already hard at work on the next big generational leap of resolution, maybe 2160P?
yes its called super HD it was demonstrated in another country,it has over sixteen times the resolution of the highest current HDTV,it has a display of seven thousand and something by something else,it was something that they only used to demonstrate on what can be possible in the future.
The viability of a next generation HD audio/video system will largely depend upon the development of new high capacity storage technologies, which will be required to store the enormous amount of digital video data that is generated by such video technology. Likewise, higher bandwidth systems will also be required to deliver next generation HD video content. I suspect that we won't see the rollout of such a system for at least another 20 to 30 years.

For a much more radical approach take a look at Sony's U.S. patents below. Sony claims that they have developed a non-invasive system and process that provides the ability to artificially generate a wide range of sensory experiences including visual, auditory, taste, smell, or touch in vivo.
