The problem is that when I turn on the TV it starts with the red, then changes to green and then goes to red with some red crossed lines. Picture does not shows black color, and after a while, the picture goes almost entirely red. Please, could someone tell me what it is and how much it might cost?
Answer:
Sounds like one of the CRT tubes is going bad. I am assuming it is a CRT projection set. Unless this set is widescreen and full high-definition with a built in tuner I wouldnt spend any money to fix it. Each CRT tube can be expensive ($300+) not including labor and alignment. 10 years is about the life span of higher end televisions these days. If you are going to buy a new one get a Sony, Mitsubishi or Hitachi. Zenith/Goldstar went broke and changed their name to LG and are junk. Same with all the other discount sets like Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic. Hope this helps!
